Program Services Offered with a Minimum of Stress!

 

   The Volunteer Friendship Ministry provides much needed services to our neighbors living with HIV or AIDS in all of Broward County.  We currently have 36 Ministry Volunteers assisted by a full time staff serving more than 70 clients in any given month with a minimum of stress or anxiety.  While new clients are encouraged to visit our Wilton Manors location, our staff will gladly meet with you in your home. 

 

CARING FOR THE ILL OR TERMINALLY ILL - Our trained volunteer Care Teams comfort those who are in the advanced stages of an AIDS related illness by offering compassionate visitation and companionship.

 

MENTORS, BUDDIES & HELPMATES - Provide help to long term HIV survivors, those who are marginalized and those facing difficulty, loneliness or isolation.

 

PRE-CASE MANAGEMENT - For the newly diagnosed and those seeking treatment for the first time by providing life skills training and the sharing of available resources for medical, dental, psychological or social services.

 

 

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE - For those who are unemployed, under employed or living on a low or fixed income.  Stabilizing lives by providing:

  • Food Pantry Linkage and Vouchers such as supermarket gift cards.
  • Financial Help with past due electric, water or rent  payments, and for those seeking employment, help with their phone bill.
  • Transportation with weekly or monthly bus passes.
  • Miscellaneous payments to help individuals achieve goals or attain supportive services.
